Johan was a student in Uppsala in 1712 and in Lund in 1722. He was a Magister in Lund in 1723 , a senior high school teacher in Skara in 1728, a clergyman in 1730, and a Vicar in Lyrestad before becoming a Dean in Vadsbro in 1753. He was a member of the Swedish parliament from 1734 to 1760. He received his Doctor of Divinity in 1772. He was known as a wise, commanding, and rich man. His Synoda sermon was printed in Skara in 1751.

Following text is a loose translation of the text found on Bengt Death Record (translation done by Josefine Nilson):

He was in prison in Mariestad because of a debt. He died in prison. He had not lived a good life with his wife. He often thought he had reason to remand people about things against them. He was quarrelsome and disorderly.

 

Death date: Note from Peter Nolskog. Bengt died Feb. 26, 1806 in Leksberg; the date shown for Varnhem is probably the date the information was received and documented in Varnhem.

 

Gunborg Andersdotter Fägersten and unknown spouse married. They had the following children:
